Wombwell Musical Theatre Society are delighted to be only the second society to perform this new Yorkshire musical.

It’s unique and unconventional. Set in the local chippy and pub, the show is a delightful blend of Yorkshire charm, humour and a bit of cheek.

The clever lyrics are tinged with wit and healthy dose of smut, while the story is entertaining, emotional and uplifting.

George’s fish and chip shop is crumbling. Can his wife, Pauline, pull her family out of the ruins? Hers is a story of strength, schemes, strippers, lycra and with a serial divorcee on the prowl, there’s never a dull moment.

The opening number - ‘Yorkshire Born and Bred’ - has lyrics that are a fabulous celebration of the county. Other songs include: ‘Pump It Out’, ‘Two Horse Race’, ‘Let’s Get Cookin’’, ‘My England and I’ and ‘It’s Your World’.

We have a very talented cast with many joining us from other societies to perform this fun-filled musical. Our Director, Matt Roddis and Musical Director, John Turnbull have joined us for the first time.
